No. MyRide has no accounts — open it and start. We do not ask for an email address, a name, a phone number or a date of birth.
No. By default everything sits in SQLite on your phone, photos included. Pro adds a cloud backup that only runs when you press it, into your own iCloud or Google Drive app folder that only you can see. Our servers are never involved.
That is exactly why snapping the pillar sign is the primary action. A photo of "B2 Red · Pillar J12" alongside the GPS fix will still get you back even if the coordinates drift by tens of metres.
Free: unlimited parking pins, unlimited fuel logs, 10 expense entries, 10 parking tickets, 5 fines, 3 tax items, one vehicle and basic stats. Pro is NT$90 once and lifts every one of those limits, and adds the service tab, the analytics tab, multiple vehicles, custom names for parking spots, the yearly PDF report, Excel export and iCloud or Google Drive backup.
It detects them in order: Google Maps, then Apple Maps, then Waze, then the browser as a fallback. Whichever you have installed is the one it uses; iOS defaults to Apple Maps and you can change the preference in settings.
On Pro: run a cloud backup on the old phone, sign in to the same Apple ID or Google account on the new one, and restore. On the free tier, export and import by hand. The Pro unlock itself travels through Restore Purchases on the App Store or Play Store.
No. Purchases on iPhone are held against your Apple ID and purchases on Android against your Google account, and the two stores do not share them.
We say "on-device first" rather than "fully offline" because two connections are unavoidable: (1) map tiles from OpenStreetMap when you open the parking map, sending coordinates only and no identifier; (2) turning GPS coordinates into a street name via Apple CLGeocoder on iOS or the system Geocoder on Android, again coordinates only. No analytics, no ads, no backend of ours — but since we show a map and a street name, those two services are involved, and saying so is better than claiming to be offline.
No, and we deliberately will not build it. MyRide is a personal record keeper, not an official payment platform, and it never touches your money. What it does: record the amount and the deadline and remind you before it lands; you then pay through the official channels of whoever issued the bill. The official system is always the source of truth for whether something is paid.
Open the Payments tab and add a parking ticket, fine or tax with its plate, amount and due date. The app reminds you before it lapses; once you have paid through the official channel, mark it paid, and a recurring tax schedules its next period automatically.
Once a parking ticket, fine or tax is saved, the app uses the deadline you entered to send a local notification before it lands. Taxes can repeat monthly or yearly, and once you mark one paid the next period is scheduled automatically. Every reminder is scheduled on the device; no server is involved.
None at all. Set oil every 5,000 km and every six months, and the app tracks both conditions, firing a local notification on whichever arrives first. Scheduling happens on the phone. It works without notification permission too — you just have to open the service tab yourself. The service tab is a Pro feature.
The PDF covers twelve months of fuel economy trends, spending by category and distance driven, sized for A4 and easy to file. The Excel export covers expenses, fuel, servicing and paperwork, and opens correctly in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets, so it imports fine into an accounting or expense system. Files are created on your device and you can share them to yourself from there.
It takes a single GPS fix the moment you press Save location, and never tracks in the background. "Always" access invites trouble in App Store and Play review and makes the app feel like it is following you, so we deliberately do not request it. Battery impact is effectively nil.
Neither. A widget is not on the roadmap for MyRide, and we have ruled AI out entirely. We list what exists, not what might.
